BMW Electric Vehicle FAQs

BMW i4 EV Charging

BMW's line of electric vehicles includes several impressive models, and more BMW EVs are scheduled to launch soon. You could easily fall in love with a BMW EV, from its all-electric capabilities to its exquisite styling and impressive features. Many of our customers at Century BMW are considering buying an electric vehicle for the first time and have similar questions. After reviewing these frequently asked questions, we invite you to learn more by contacting our associates directly.

What are the all-electric BMW models?

Currently, BMW offers three all-electric models. These are the BMW i4 Gran Coupe, the BMW iX SUV, and the BMW i7 sedan. Other all-electric BMWs will be introduced soon, including the impressive BMW i5 sedan.

How long does it take for a BMW EV to charge?

Three primary charging methods are available: an at-home, Level 2 public, and DC fast charger. The Level 2 and at-home chargers are comparable and can provide battery replenishment for a 30-mile range in an hour. With a DC fast charger, only 10 minutes is required to replenish the battery for a 108-mile range. You can even use a standard power outlet to charge your EV's battery. This will deliver four miles of range per hour.

Does it cost more for EV service?

The maintenance needs for EVs and gas vehicles differ, and you may save time and money on auto maintenance with an all-electric vehicle. This is because electric vehicles do not need tasks like oil changes and other services.
