It took BMW to show that a luxury crossover SUV could perform and handle like a sport sedan, but that’s exactly what distinguishes the BMW X Series of Sports Activity Vehicles. The three smaller models, X1, X2 and X3, share a common mission – to provide a fun-to-drive experience in a capable, versatile, and spacious SUV.

Performance

All three models feature a version of BMW’s respected 2.0-liter turbo 4 engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The X1 and X2 deliver 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, good for a zero-to-60 mph time of 6.6 seconds. The larger X3’s turbo-4 produces 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, but you can also upgrade to a 3.0-liter turbo-6 that outputs 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft for a zero-to-60 time of 4.4 seconds. The X2 offers three driving modes (Sport, Comfort and ECO Pro), and offers the stiffer M Sport suspension.

Dimensions

The X1 and X2 share a platform with a 105.1-inch wheelbase, compared to the X3’s 112.8-inch wheelbase. The X1 has a more generous length than the X2, while the X3 is larger still and weighs around 400 pounds more. All three models have similar figures for head and leg room, but X3 offers more shoulder room. X2 provides 50.1 cu. ft of cargo volume, versus 58.7 in X1 and 28.7 in X3. All three models have similar, driver-focused cabins with a clean design and upscale materials.

Safety

All three BMW SUVs offer the latest safety and security features, starting with four years of roadside assistance and BMW Assist eCall featuring an SOS button. Standard and available active safety features include active cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, rain-sensing wipers, and rearview monitor. The X2 offers several important options, including parking assistant, head-up display and run-flat tires.

Our BMW luxury dealership welcomes you to come in and test-drive the 2021 X1, X2 and X3. Once you try a BMW SUV, you’ll never settle for another brand. We look forward to your visit!
