Performance

The 2022 BMW 2 Series is available in two trim levels. The base trim level is outfitted with a turbo four-cylinder, 255-horsepower engine, and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine drives the rear wheels. The top 2 Series trim level comes with a turbo V6, 382-horsepower engine. This is paired with an auto transmission and all-wheel drive. These two powertrains are also offered across the 4 Series' four trim levels. The first two trims have the 255-horsepower engine and related mechanical gear. The top two 4 Series trims have the 382-horsepower powertrain system.

Appearance

You will immediately find design differences to appreciate when you compare the exteriors of the 2 Series and the 4 Series. The 2 Series is a sports coupe with a well-defined, confident hood and a scalloped roofline. The rear window is raked for an athletic touch. The sides show off elegant definition with defined haunches and prominent rocker panels. The small, stretched grille on the front end is combined with aggressive headlights and a molded bumper. Whether you choose the 4 Series coupe or the 4 Series convertible with a soft top, this model has a tall, curved roof with a prominent trunk area at the rear. The hood has a swooping flow that trends into the tall grille. Double-scalloped LED headlights to flank the grille confidently. On the sides, the 4 Series has smooth, molded haunches at the rear and athletic accentuation through the door panels.

Features

Many of the features available in the 2022 2 Series are also offered in the 4 Series. These include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, remote vehicle control, automated parking tech, a heads-up display, a large display screen, a premium audio system, adaptive headlights, heated seats, and leather upholstery. If you opt for the 4 Series, your BMW will also have Live Cockpit Professional, neck warmers in the convertible, voice recognition, wireless smart device connectivity, a tri-zone climate control system, and a sunroof in the hardtop coupe.
