The X1 is BMW's entry-level crossover SUV, and it is loaded with premium features that you will appreciate over the miles traveled. The X1's third generation was released only two years ago, and extensive updates were introduced then. In 2025, the X1 will be unchanged from the previous model year.

Performance

The BMW X1 is offered in two trim levels. The xDrive28i has a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that generates 241 horsepower. The M35i xDrive has a more powerful version of this same engine that produces 312 horsepower. Both systems are connected to an auto dual-clutch, seven-speed transmission, and come with all-wheel drive. The M35i xDrive is also loaded with adaptive suspension dampers and enhanced brakes.

Appearance

The 2024 and 2025 BMW X1 have a small stature and bold personality from all angles. The front end is tall with unique, dual-triangular LED headlights. The broad, kidney-style grille displays a squared-off look. The lower fascia flares outward on the sides, highlighting the edgy air inlets. Over the sides, you will find chiseled door panels with subtly defined fenders. The entry-level trim comes with 18-inch wheels and a power liftgate. The more advanced X1 trim has auto-dimming side mirrors, 19-inch wheels, blue calipers, and a power-liftgate.

Features

All of the coveted features offered with the 2024 BMW X1 are available in the 2025 model year. The entry-level trim's features are synthetic leather upholstery, a 10.7-inch infotainment system screen, a digital instrument panel, forward collision mitigation, wireless connections for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a navigation system, a blind-spot system, and parking sensors. The M35i xDrive adds a 12-speaker premium Harman Kardon sound system and a wireless charging pad. Options include driving assistance, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, remote engine start, and sport seats.
